IT Skills Profile Summary - M200

IT Skills Profile Summary - M200
  • Item #: M200

This methodology combines 2 key components: IT Skills Profile Procedure & Process coupled with a Rating Template and Sample Skill Summary reports. The Skills Profile procedure is used as the basis for identifying the rating basis for the skills and competencies of an IT resource. The Skills Profile is a Self-Assessment and is specifically NOT used as the basis for any reviews or compensation. Creating or updating the Skills Profile is a periodic event, completed each 6 months or when someone new joins the organization.

The procedure identifies the approach to rating and evaluating generic IT skill components through the use of four (4) specific and 1 generic SDLC Roles as the criteria basis. In this manner all potential Skills selected are rated. This helps ensure a common basis for comparison and reporting. This information can then be coordinated with requirements to determine any gaps and associated recommendations to resolve discrepancies and optimize future plan success.

There are 3 tabs in the supplementary workbook. The Rating & Scoring Template identifies over 60 standard IT Skills as the basis for Self-Assessment Rating. Rating each selected Skill and identifying the Years of Experience facilitates preparing the 2 Sample Reports in the other Workbook tabs highlighting Skills Summary and Years of Experience Summary.  This information can then be coordinated with requirements to determine any current Skill gaps and associated recommendations to resolve discrepancies and optimize future plan actions to meet future skills need
